Weather prediction for today was sunny and hot, BUT when we left the boulanger after purchasing breakfast and lunch, the sky got very dark and we had a strong thunderstorm for 90 minutes!! I slept, Tina read her Kindle. The rest of the morning and early afternoon were cloudy and
low 80's but by 2:00 it was sunny hot and humid!! Glad we had a pool to return to in the late afternoon!!
Spent the whole day at the Roman-Gaul antiquities museum and site , just across the Rhone from Vienne. It's a wonderful new museum with great mosaics and other archeologic finds. The site is 5 hectars, much like Pompeii, but not as well preserved. They are still excavating it.
After an afternoon in the pool, we went back to Vienne for a very nice dinner at Le Restique. Had my first escargot of this trip; very tasty! Walked along the Rhone after dinner and discovered the Viking longship Bruni was docked near the TI.
