Leah's 37th birthday !! Had to wait until 6PM here to wish her greetings of the day (9 AM in LA). Had a Face Time (mostly with Freja, who was very chatty this morning.) to formalize our well wishes.
The day started out grey with spits of rain. Perfect conditions for another successful trip to the laundromat! By the time we finished (90 minutes later) it was sunny though windy and chilly (especially compared to the ongoing heat wave they're enduring in Portland.)
Picked up picnic supplies and headed for Concarneau. Traffic was horrendous and slow moving and parking very difficult to find. We eventually were successful and after a quick picnic under foreboding skies, we visited the "Ville Close", the tiny walled city on an island connected to the modern day city by a small bridge.
Drove on to Pont Aven, reputed to be one of Brittany's most picturesque towns. Unfortunately, we had another "Roskoff experience"; never could find parking and just had to leave town. Finished today's drive with a stop at Cap Coz, the beach here. Looked nice , but cold and cloudy.
Have decided we need to get a real early start to make our visit to Quimper tomorrow if we hope to find parking. The fact that it's their market day might complicate the situation.
As we had only been to one creperie since arriving in Brittany, we repeated the experience tonight at the "Creperie St. Pierre" facing the church in Fouesenant.
Walked - 4.4 miles
Drove - 89 km
