Got up early hoping to see the Roman archeologic sites before it got hot. Cool enough for breakfast outside at the B&B, but by 10:30, it was already very hot in the mostly unshaded Roman ruins. The museum was a bit cooler, but not air conditioned. Gauls inhabited the area in 600 BC and were conquered by the Romans in 200 BC. The Romans had abandoned the area by 400 AD. A medieval town developed in the XI-XII century.
Had lunch at a brasserie on Place Monfort, hoping to cool off in the heat of the day. The misters helped, but it was still hot.
Bought supplies for a picnic dinner and stopped at the little, unadorned cathedral on the way home. Nice cloisters.
It reached 96 this afternoon. I watched some old timers and young people play boule in the shade at a park near the pool, then went swimming again.
Walked- 5.5 miles
Drove - zero km
