Retirement Odyssey
Today we drove from Rouen to Honfleur with a few stops along the way at the abbeys of St Georges de Boscherville (intact, functional), Jumierge (ruins only, yet still the most impressive of the three) and St Wandrile (intact, functional, brewing beer as a fundraiser since 2016). Weather started out dry, but deteriorated to rain by the time we reached St Wandrile. The rest of the trip to Honfleur was smooth and easy.
We’re staying at the Hotel Ecrin, in an old mansion, just a 5 minute walk to the old harbor which is quite picturesque even on a drizzly day. Honfleur is very much a tourist town. Two days will be enough to see what we’re interested in.
Had a very nice dinner at “La Tortue” then headed home, arriving just in time for a video chat with Ehren and Hugo.
Walked- 4.9 miles
Drove- 133 km

Along the Seine
