Retirement Odyssey
Very nice breakfast at the B&B this morning. We "flirted" with a 1 year old French girl (?) who was in the dining room with her mother.
Easy drive to Josselin. It's on the Brest-Nantes canal, built in the early 1800's and like it's brethren, put out of business by the railroad by 1900. Now used by vacationers on canal boats. No crowds, no parking issues. Very nice little "ville de character". Couldn't visit the castle as you can only go with a guide and there were no English tours until long after we were ready to leave. I did get a chance to climb the bell tower! (see photos)
Drove part way home on the back roads.... and didn't make any mistakes this time!
Had dinner at "La Petit Souris". Good food and wine, full house. Passed the movie theater on the way home. The feature was Le Gros Reynard Mechant. It appears he was mean to the little fox who befriended rather than ate chickens.
