Retirement Odyssey

Left Loquenole after breakfast and drove to Locronan, listed as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France". It was pretty and fairly unchanged since the 18th century (all grey granite buildings), but way too touristy and cute for me.

The route took us through the Arree Mountains in central Brittany (it's not all seacoast you see.) A very nice drive on country roads, minimal traffic. The weather continues to be great.

Took what amounted to a ring road around Quimper (we'll visit there later this week) and found our little town of St Evarzec w/o problems. The farm/hotel was easy to find and it's really nice. The owners speak very little English, but I made out OK with my French. It's a working cattle farm. Beautifully maintained gardens in front of the rental units!!

After checking in and unloading, we continued on to the seaside town of Fouesnant. They call this the Breton Riviera. Pictures of the beach look beautiful (it's called "Cape Coz"); we'll try to see it in person tomorrow, but I suspect the water will be too cold for us to swim.

Had a nice dinner at the Hotel de Cidre in Fouesnant then home. Hope to get some relaxation time in here before we move on again in 3 days.
At that point it will be 3 weeks since we left home...... hard to believe!!
