Semester in Europe!

So we woke up and of course went back to our newly found waffle spot and got waffles again! This time instead of chocolate and strawberries, I got apple cinnamon and it was incredible! The waffles are more crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and the combination is amazing! Also they have a slightly different taste - maybe a special kind of sugar! Anyway, after getting waffles we made our way to the statue of the little boy peeing, but of course we stopped in one store and probably 3 chocolate stores along the way!! The chocolate is like an art! Each store had different fillings and are shaped differently it's so cool!!! After the statue we headed to the Palace where we took amazing pictures! It was beautiful! It is only open to tour during the summer but we still were able to walk abound the perimeter! No one lives there anymore! Across from it is a big park that reminded me a lot of the battery park! So we walked through that on our way to the EU Parliament! One of the chocolate shops that we went into was brand new so we were speaking to the owner and asked her where the best place for fries was! It happened to be behind the European Union's grounds so we went there for lunch! It ended up being a little hole in the wall and we got burgers and fries - definitely not Phil Clarke burgers because I had a stomach ache like I do whenever I eat food that isn't good for me haha oops... But the fries were incredible! They, like the waffles, are crunchy on the outside and softer on the inside. They gave us both mayonnaise and a garlic sauce for them! The mayonnaise tastes different too! Not as distinct of a taste as in America. Also, the ketchup was spicier! After the lunch we went into the EU from the back gardens which were beautiful! The Parliament was not in session but I was still able to walk around and be a nerd and read all the signs and figure out what everything was! It was so cool! And it was huge! So many buildings makeup the entire campus! I also went in the store and got a book all about how to run the parliament system! After we left there (my friends were great about letting me stay!) we went to the Palace of Justice which is one of the best buildings for architecture in Belgium! It is the largest courthouse in the world! It was beautiful and very intricate but was being restored when we went to it had scaffolding all over it! But up where it is there is an overlook over the entire city and it was beautiful! On our walk back to the Grand Place we stopped in more chocolate stores!! When we got back to the hostel we freshened up before walking around a bit and going to get dinner! We got dinner at a place called Purple Rose and it was very very good! We then went to an old beer hall from 1928 and got their specialty Belgium beers! Mine was peace and it was amazing!!! We then headed back to the hostel for the night! Belgium is so nice at night also and everyone is soooo friendly!! And the town is very lively at night! It was overall an amazing city!!!
