Semester in Europe!

When we arrived in Florence we had lunch at my favorite place for pizza, Industria, then walked around the city! We saw the Duomo and next to it found a record store called Move On. It was an Italian pub on the bottom floor and a record store on the second floor with an amazing view of the Duomo! We went back a few times because we loved it so much! We also went to one leather market and got gelato!! On Sunday we climbed up to Piazza de Michelangelo which has the best views of the city! It is a walk but it is so worth it! I also was able to show the fam where I went to school! That night we ate at a restaurant called Parione and it was absolutely incredible! We had a wine tasting all day the Monday of spring break! We boarded the bus and went to the first winery where we were able to taste one white wine, one Chianti Classico, and one Chianti Reserve. We also got to see the cellars where they age and produce the wine. We then went to Greve which is a small town in the Chianti region. Here there was a market going on and we stopped for coffee before heading to the second winery! At the second winery they took us in the cellars first and explained their wine making process. Then they sat us all down and we tried a multitude of snacks (cheese, salami, and breads with their truffle olive oil and balsamic vinegar) and three different wines here too. I liked the wine at this second place better but both were incredible! After this tasting we went to a small town called Castellina where we went on a walking tour inside the city walls - like a tunnel - and then up to a fort that is in the city! Once we returned back to Florence we went to an Italian pub called Move On that is also a record store! The restaurant we ate at after the wine tour was called Caffe dell’Oro and it too was incredible! On Tuesday we decided to head to Cinque Terre for the day! We saw two of the five towns which had amazing views!! We loved being able to finally be by the ocean! The towns themselves were a lot older than I had pictured but the views were incredible and the people were so nice! At the first town that we visited, we climbed up to a look out point at the top of the hill on the coast! It was so many stairs it was hilarious! On the way down we found a little court yard in a hotel where we were able to sit and look out! It was beautiful!! Any coastal town in Italy is gorgeous because of all the cliffs! On the way home dad met a family from New York who convinced us that it was okay to get on a different train than what we had booked and we almost got in trouble! I was freaking out! We are now officially train jumpers! Hilarious! Before leaving Florence we also went to the other leather market! The lady who I bought my wallet from when I was there in January remembered me!! I could not believe it! We also were able to do some shopping and sight see a bit more!
