Semester in Europe!

So this castle inspired the one for Prince Eric's castle in the Little Mermaid! I heard that it was only an hour outside of Geneva so of course I made my friends go... After getting a bite to eat we headed to the train station where we got a ticket that included transportation there and back, and a tour of the castle!! The train ride was super easy and beautiful. We went along Lake Geneva and along the mountains and it was so breathtaking. Once we arrived in the little town that the castle is in the walk to it was incredible as well. You exit literally next to the lake and overlook the alps. We walked along a little path and took so many amazing pictures on our way. There was a group of girls sitting there having a picnic so normal while looking over this scene from a movie. I was so in awe of the beauty. By the time I was done being starstruck by the lake and the alps we made it to the castle! We spent a few hours walking all around and exploring all of the rooms and secret passage ways!! It was so much fun! Just like playing make believe as a child! We then went in the store and this interactive learning lab where I sat and listened to all the videos about the history and architecture! It actually used to be a fortress on the rocks and they smoothed the rocks so people could not climb up them. There were then three additions as time went on and the inside was built up more. I absolutely loved it!!! We made it back in time for dinner so we found a nice Irish pub to get burgers at! There was a rugby match on tv while we ate and I got soooo into it! It was so intense! We stayed there and watched the whole game! It was such a great day!!
