We had to check out of our hostel by 10am so we woke up and got ready early before storing our luggage and setting out for the day! Everything in Switzerland is closed on Sunday's though!!! We ended up eating breakfast at Starbucks (no complaints there). After eating breakfast and sitting outside people watching we headed out to find some botanical gardens around the side of the lake. Along the way we kept stopping on the side of the lake to take amazing pictures and people watch. There were so many adorable families out walking and I was going crazy over how cute all the kids were. There were also so many dogs!!! I loved it. When we finally made it to the park that the gardens were in we were amazed at how big and beautiful it was! There were trails everywhere, flowers everywhere, and it was so breathtaking. The whole city was so peaceful. We walked around for a long time exploring the park and playing on all the playgrounds! Alexa and I spent a very long time being 5 year olds and swinging on the swings. We never were able to find the actual botanical gardens but we didn't mind because the rest of the park was so cool!! We made our way back to the main harbor of the river where Alexa and I got tickets to go on a boat cruise of the lake!! The cruise lasted about an hour and it was so cool! They took us all around and explained what different areas were! It was beautiful and we got our boat fix in. After this we went back to our hostel to get our luggage and then found out that our flight back to Rome had been canceled... There were air strikes in France and our flight was going to go over France. If the strike is in France the air traffic control wouldn't be working so even though it was not a France airline or we weren't landing in France we still were not able to fly over it... So we rushed to the airport where we were quickly taken care of. We booked new flights for Monday evening and headed to our super nice hotel that the airline payed for!! We got all free dinner and went to bed carefree in our super comfy big FREE beds! They sure do know how to handle situations!
