Semester in Europe!

So we had the first half of class today and soooo many people were missing because the super bowl was on so late last night! With that being said, we hadn't used any of our absences yet so we took a "mental health" morning and skipped the second half of class to go shoe shopping of course! Justine had broken her shoes and needed knew ones! After shoes, we tried to find the Mexican restaurant in town but we ended up getting very lost and when we finally found it, it was closed!!! But luckily we wandered back to our favorite pizza place and it was delicious!!! We then headed to Pisa for the afternoon! Pisa is only about an hour away from Florence so the bus ride was very easy! When we got there, we went straight to the tower and church there and of course took a million pictures!! It was hilarious watching everyone try to get the best one... We got some hilarious pictures of people we do not know! We then stopped for gelato (of course) then headed back to the bus - on time. By that I mean I wasn't paying attention when Marco, our leader, told us to be back and when he asked me I told him the wrong time... Oops. But thankfully we made it back and were not left by the bus!! When we got back to the hotel we had Roman gnocchi which is NOT the same kind of gnocchi I have been eating here and basically our whole group almost cried because we were so excited for real gnocchi... But then we had so many veggies I was soooooo happy because I swear this city doesn't know what veggies are! Only carbs! After dinner (and face timing mom to say HBD) we headed to the Mexican restaurant because they were finally open!!! We each got one drink and headed back to bed!! Overall it was a rather chill day which is exactly what we all needed! Pisa was definitely cool even though the tower is really the only part that anyone ever sees! It was crazy to see it in person! It leans because the ground underneath is apparently so wet so it's constantly sinking. It took three architects to design and build it because they all got embarrassed that they couldn't fix the leaning problem. Our guide for Pisa told us that and his name was also Marco... Needless to say a bunch of 19-22 year olds had a field day having two leaders named Marco.
