Semester in Europe!

So this morning I had my last lecture class in photography, later this week we start shooting!! Up until this point we have been learning about the history of photography which is very interesting because in my art history class back at Auburn we learned about all of these movements in regards to paintings. I am very excited to go out in the city and shoot for the entire class period! After photography class, Justine and I found a restaurant called Insalataricca that is very close to school. It officially has my favorite pizza in Rome. Also, today it was not raining like yesterday was so I am back to being happy. For those of you that missed my passive aggressive texts to mom, yesterday rained and I was not very happy about it... anywaysssss this place also has huge salads with lots of fun stuff on them so we are planning on going back to try those soon. After lunch I still had time before class so Alexa came with us to get coffee from a place below our school building that is so cheap. After our nice coffee break we headed back upstairs for our Italian classes in which we had a quiz in! After the quiz we talked a lot about stereotypes in different regions of the US and in Italy and that was so interesting to see the perspective from someone who is not from the United States. After class, we headed home where we cleaned (finally) and did laundry before making delicious pasta! We then headed out for the. best. gelato. ever. It is a place called Come il Latte and it is about a twenty minute walk from our house but it is SO WORTH IT. We got there to find out that they make the gelato fresh every morning so the best time to go get it is at 11:30am. Also, they will fill your cone with chocolate (white or dark) before putting the gelato in... then after the gelato they will drizzle chocolate over the top of it also. ANDDD this was all for only 2 euros. It was incredible. The owners were so nice and spoke very good english so they explained to us how they make the gelato every morning. Also, when paying with my card I was asking them about how they pay for credit card machines because I knew in America it is different fees for if the customer pays with a debit or credit card. They said that the government takes so much of their money that they would essentially keep none of the profit they made off of Justine and I tonight. It was so interesting to hear their perspective of their government system and hear about the similarities and differences from the US. However, me being a nerd and wanting to know about their government caused us to miss the grocery store closing by literally one minute. It was very sad. But we ended up taking a longer route home than expected and saw very cool parts of our neighborhood! And we worked off the gelato... thats the great thing about this city!
