Semester in Europe!

Sunday we woke up and after breakfast at the hotel we ventured over to my neighborhood, Monti! Here we grabbed Justine and made our way to a market that is only open on the weekends in April down one of our streets! The Monti Urbana Market! It has all local goods and was so adorable. One stand had jewelry made out of old coins from all around the world. Justine and I got matching bracelets and Mimi got adorable earrings!! On our way to the market we stopped in the local stores along Via Urbana such as the candle store and other jewelry stores. After the market we went in a few more stores before having lunch at the Drunken Cow. After lunch we stopped for a coffee before making our way back to my apartment to relax a little! Before heading back to the hotel we walked over to our favorite gelato place in Rome, Come il Latte. Here is where Daddad got two cones! That just goes to show how delicious this gelato really is. Since that was basically our dinner later in the night we went down to a restaurant across the street that tries to get us to eat there every night - and daddad says "be there tomorrow," every time! So we finally did end up "going tomorrow." On Monday morning daddad and I made our way down to Piazza Venezia and climbed up over 100 stairs to get to the elevator to go up to the top of the Victorian. When we reached the top that entrance was closed... so instead of going back down the stairs we went into the church up on the hill! The church was beautiful and we were able to go out a different exit onto a lookout of the Forum! Once we made it around the Victorian and up to the top it was such an amazing view! The highest point in Rome and you can see absolutely everything! Once we made our way back down we were able to go out on the main area out front of the Victorian and saw the tomb of the unknown soldier from WWI and the eternal flames of Rome. Next we made our way to St. John the Lateran church to look around before heading back to get Mimi from the hotel. We then went to a restaurant by school for lunch before I went to class. After class, Alexa, Sarah, Taylor, and I met Mimi and Daddad for dinner at a restaurant near the Jewish Ghetto where we had a delicious dinner and gelato!! On Tuesday we had breakfast at the hotel before Mimi and Daddad walked me to school! After my morning class I went and met up with them and we made our way to Piacere for sandwiches then Buddy's for coffee before I had to go back to class. After my afternoon class the girls and I walked back to the hotel to have coffee with Mimi and Daddad before Mimi went with us to the cooking class! At the cooking class we made risotto with blue cheese, pears, and walnuts and it was so good! After that we made lava cake! It was so much fun having Mimi at the cooking class!
