Semester in Europe!

We took the train from Prague to Germany for our last stop! When we got there we got settled in and walked around a bit and found our Starbucks of course! We had dinner in our hotel that night and it was absolutely amazing. We met a girl that mom wants to take home with us. We signed up for another free tour and loved it!! It was rainy that day but it did not even matter because the tour was so full of history and culture! We learned that Berlin is not like other German towns but it is because they are still doing so much rebuilding from WW2. We saw Checkpoint Charlie, remnants of the Berlin Wall, museums, historical buildings, and so much more. We also saw the Lombard Gate and the Parliament building around all of the consulates! Next to the American consulate is the WW2 Jewish Memorial. I learned so much about WW2 and Germany's influences -- both good and bad. That night we got to have dinner with Josie because he is studying there! He took us to an authentic German restaurant that was delicious! After dinner we tried to go to the Olympic Stadium but the trains were shut down so we took a cab ride out there and the driver was like our own tour guide! He was awesome! After we saw that he took us to the church that was bombed in WW2 but never fixed! It was very beautiful and cool how they still use it in its condition. The next day for my birthday mom and I made out way over to East Side Gallery to see the murals that have been painted on the remnants of the Berlin Wall. We also had dinner at the hotel where the waiter made my very own dessert right in front of us!! Also the concierge girl, Caroline, got me a scratch off world map and cake and put it in our room!! It was so sweet! We also went souvenir shopping in the mall across the street and in a market that was set up! We had an absolute blast! A wonderful way to end such a perfect semester!
