Our first night in Dublin we went to a famous pub called Murry's for dinner! After dinner we stayed there and got drinks while hanging out in the pub. We heard music coming from a different part of it so we walked in and it seemed like a smaller dance room that had a completely different vibe from the rest of the pub! We stayed there a while and it was so much fun and the DJ was so good!! On our way out we found a way to (probably illegally) climb up on the roof of the pub and it had an amazing view of Dublin. On our second day in Dublin we took a tour going out to the Cliffs of Moher. We met in the main city square at 8am and boarded a coach bus out to the other coast of Ireland. We made a few stops on the way in different little towns along the countryside of Ireland. We stopped at a coastal town that was super small with very little local shops. Next we stopped at an old church that was in the middle of the fields of Ireland. We also stopped at the mini cliffs that are before the real cliffs! There we also got lunch at a pub in a town near them. Once we reached the Cliffs of Moher we were able to stay there for a while before heading back to the bus. The cliffs were absolutely breathtaking. You are literally walking on the side of one of the tallest cliffs in the world... There are paths all along the seven or so cliffs and it takes a while to walk across all of them but it was beautiful the entire time. There is one point that everyone takes their pictures on and we all got hilarious and adorable pictures everywhere. It was most definitely the coolest and most memorable thing of the entire semester combined. When the bus dropped us off we were very close to the famous Temple Bar area so we headed there. We got Mexican food on the way before heading to The Temple Bar. This place was so cool, especially since it is so famous, but it was so crowded! There, like many places in Temple Bar, had live music which was so good! We ended up sitting outside and it was very fun because there were a ton of bachelor and bachelorette parties and other groups dressed up that were very fun to people watch. Once we were done there we went to another big pub in the area that we stayed at the entire rest of the night because it was so much fun! There was live music there too and they were taking requests so we danced and sang all night! The next morning we woke up and got ourselves ready and made it into the main area of the city. We went to the Guinness factory and spent most of the day there because it was SO COOL!! There are seven floors and they focus on a different aspect of making the beer then of the company on each one. We went through the entire process of making the Guinness before learning about the history and marketing processes of the company. It was so interesting and we had a blast! The tour ended at the Gravity bar on the 7th floor glass bar with a panoramic view of the city where we got two complimentary pints of Guinness. After Guinness we walked towards the jail to take a tour of it because it too is famous and on the way got lunch at a pub and had delicious fish and chips! We latter found out that the jail tours were closed but we went and walked by it anyways to see it! It was very very old but cool! On the way we walked through the gardens of the Irish Museum which was pretty! We then headed to Dublin Castle which was part of this square with many old government buildings with a lot of Dublin history that was very interesting to see. It was very close to Temple Bar area also so we headed there to go in a huge store to get our souvenirs. On our way out of the area there was this contest to win 100 euros and all you had to do was hang on a bar for 100 seconds... well it is harder than it seems and Dunne tried to do it and actually did a lot better than everyone else trying! Once home we hung out at the apartment for a while before heading to a pub near our house for just a little bit before calling it a night! In the morning the boys had to head back to London for work but Justine and I slept in then headed into the Botanical Gardens next to our apartment! There were really pretty flowers but there were a lot more trees and other plants than anything else. We then went to St. Patrick's Cathedral which was so cool! The architecture of it was beautiful and it had an awesome park next to it that we went in for a while! We then headed to a jewelry store to get the Irish rings and then got coffee at an adorable shop close by! For lunch we went to a place called the Bull and Castle and had the most amazing meat sandwiches in all of Europe! We missed having meat!! After lunch we walked around a bit before catching a cab to the airport to go to London! In London all we had time to do was grab dinner but we went to this AMAZING restaurant on the river right next to the Tower Bridge, which is gorgeous at night. After dinner we walked over the bridge which was an amazing view of the city. In the morning we went back to Rome after my favorite trip of the semester!
