We awoke to blue skies, I’d filled the washing machine & Richard switched it on when he made our bed tea & coffee. We waited for the machine to finish before heading out to walk to Fabrica coffee roasters for a coffee, my 1st latte since leaving South Africa & it was lovely. In Morocco we’d been drinking nous nous, 1/2 coffee & 1/2 milk, some had been really nice. The coffee shop was near the funicular tram but it didn’t seem to be running. We then walked along the avenue Liberdade, which was rather like the Paris end of Collins Street, with Channel, Cartier, Bulgari etc, towards the marques Pombal.
We walked around the garden & then headed to the Pingo Doce super market. We purchased rye bread, cheese & tomatoes for lunch & chicken, potatoes, turnip & broccoli for a roast dinner.
Our washing was dry when we got home so I put on another load. I managed to get all the washing & ironing done before we headed out for a walk “up the hill” before dinner. Tonight we’ve watched ground hog day. I keep looking for Mary & Bert but haven’t seen them yet (Mary Poppins & Bert the chimney sweep!).
