Europe

Richards ankle was still really sore & the weather was again showery.
Our power went off just before 10am as I was in the shower , it was pitch black, luckily I was able to attract Richards attention to open the bathroom door!. Richard went to check & the buildings emergency lighting was on so we know it wasn’t just our apartment. I headed out to get a coffee, all the shops next to us had power so I know it must be our apartment block. With coffee in hand I headed back up the five flights of stairs & we sent a message to our host.
Unfortunately none of the museums I wanted to visit were open on a Monday & Richard wasn’t able to walk very far but we did head out to purchase Richard a “grandad collar” shirt from H&M & then walked down to the fine arts museum & theatre for a look at the buildings. After a wander we headed back to the apartment & purchased some bread for lunch. We had roast pork sandwiches with sweet potato, yummy.
The power was still not back on. We both had a nap, me covered by a towel as I was cold. At 2.30 I messaged our host again & the power came on just after 3pm. I did some ironing & then some embroidery & WhatsApp’d Mum. We went out to La Bottega for a pizza which was really nice, it’s located in place d’onions in old Lille so at least Richard saw some of the old city. The lift still wasn’t working.
