Europe

I set the alarm & we were in a taxi heading to the bus station by 7.45am. Our tickets said for international journeys to be at the bus station at least 1/2 an hour before departure time, we were there but no bus!! Our bus arrived 10 mins before departure time but as there was only six of us boarding we departed on time. We stopped at Orient bus station & collected a further three passengers. The bus was quite comfortable, had wifi & I was able to charge my phone. We stopped after 2 hours for 1/2 an hour, I had a flat white coffee & Richard an ice cream, we reboarded the bus & headed for Faro. I was listening to a podcast “The Teachers Pet” & Richard was dozing. We stopped twice in Faro, at the airport & the bus station & a further eight passengers boarded. It was pretty tight when the person in front reclined their seat. We entered Spain, there was a sign but no border check as such. We arrived at the bus station at 5 pm local time after a 7 hour journey. I had felt nauseous but felt a bit better after taking an anti nausea tablet. Luckily our apartment was within a 5 min walk. Our host met us outside, I now understand what all the numbers are for in the address as it’s a large apartment block, although not modern. We settled into our apartment & Richard headed out to the Carrefore express we’d passed for some milk. After a cup of tea & logging into the internet to locate a supermarket we headed out to purchase something for dinner & breakfast. The streets were really busy with people enjoying the late afternoon sunshine & a glass of wine. We found fresh pasta at the supermarket & enjoyed this with a tomato, mushroom & red wine sauce. Perfect.
