6 July - 9 August.

After a few more tip & charity runs Mum’s moving day had arrived, the removals company packed her Northwich home on Tuesday 9 July, Richard & I finished cleaning as each room was emptied. We left & drove to Lynne & Bruce’s leaving at approximately 4.30pm. After a couple of delays & a detour meaning we traveled across the tops encountering low clouds we arrived about 8.30pm, Lynne & Bruce arrived at the same time as we did & had brought a takeaway curry for us all, perfect. The furniture was delivered to Mums new apartment in Hexham on Wednesday & we started the unpacking. On the Friday evening we hosted a fish & chips housewarming dinner with Molly, Gemma, Lynne & Bruce. On Sunday 16th Lynne, Bruce, Richard & I headed for a walk in the Lake District, we parked at Howtown & walked part way around Ullswater to Glenridding & caught the steamer back. We had a drink at the pub in Glenridding & also Howtown. Such a lovely part of the world.
We had booked our return flights for 18th July & planned to spend a few nights in Singapore. Unfortunately Tina rang with some sad news that Nick had passed away. Richard was liaising with the police, coroner & funeral director.

We moved to an Airbnb in Hartlepool on the 18th & then Durham on the 26th. We eventually were allowed into Nicks house & found approximately six months of unopened mail. I sorted the mail & Richard started making phone calls & started to put Nicks affairs in order ready to handover to Tina & a solicitor. Nicks service was held at Durham Crematorium & we had drinks at The Duke of Wellington on Thursday 1 August. We collected Nicks ashes & drove to Louth on the Friday, on Saturday we had a wake at The Axe & Clever. After we went back to Tina’s & a game of cricket was organised. On Sunday we scattered Nicks ashes at Blundal park, Grimsby Towns home ground (in Cleethorpes). Tina, Brigg, Richard & I met with the solicitor on Tuesday & drove back to Hartlepool to drop off our hire car before getting the train to Hexham. We stayed with Lynne & Bruce & had dinner on the Thursday with Mum, Anne, Phillip, Adam, Lynne & Bruce at the Beaumont. We flew back to Melbourne on Friday 9th August.
