We woke & checked the luggage website, still searching, we had breakfast & were preparing to head out for coffee as Richards coffee was in his bag when the status on the searching website changed to delivery process commenced, we weren’t sure when it would arrive but one of us at least needed to stay at the apartment. We didn’t know (& still don’t) the apartment number so couldn’t put that on the lost luggage form. We also discovered the day before that our apartment buzzer (no number but an elephant logo) wasn’t working, our hosts had been a bit unhelpful about that.
I headed out to get takeaway coffee & Richard listened to the football & kept an eye out the window as we only had one set of keys & you need a security tab to get out, so Richard had to let me out just in case he needed to go down. I went to La Fiancée for coffee, about a 20 min walk. The coffee was ok, the write ups about this shop had been great, it was supposed to be the best in Toulouse!!
Still no further updates on the luggage so I headed back out for a wander & also to purchase something for lunch. I had a nice wander & then found a supermarket quite close to home & purchased bread & pate for lunch (en croute, mushroom & duck). We had lunch, we thought the bag might have come on the same flight as us the previous day but there wasn’t one & actually no flights from Barcelona until Sunday (we didn’t actually know if the bag had been left in Barcelona). About 2.30pm we tried to ring the number we’d been provided & a couple of other numbers from the website but they were looping.
About 3.45pm we got a phone call from the Toulouse airport courier saying he had our bag & were we home, he arrived about 4.30pm. I was able to do some washing, charge my iPad & Richard was able to put on clean clothes after his shower. The bag had flown in from Madrid, my guess is it was left at Barcelona & had to go to Madrid & then fly to Toulouse. We went for a wander down to the Pont Neuf bridge & back up into the city & to the supermarket for something for dinner. Richard made a lovely lamb curry with rice.
Nuisance to have lost a day, I was hoping to get to the aircraft museum, they have a Concorde that you can go on, as well as a number of other planes. Toulouse is where the airbuses are assembled & along with Bristol were the two cities where Concord was built & the test flights occurred in 1969, 2 March 2019 marked the 50 year anniversary of the 1st flight from Toulouse in 001, the 1st flight from Bristol in 002, being 9 April, 1969. I had witnessed a Concord test flight & would love to go on one, will look into this at Manchester Airport.
