Europe

We finished packing & had an early breakfast & took our luggage down to reception. We had spent our last night in Morocco at the Riad Nesma in Marrakech but our flight to Lisbon left from Casablanca. Luckily we were able to share a minibus with our guide who needed to get back to Casablanca & also four of his new tour group who had flown in from Germany. The journey was 2 1/2 hours . We arrived at Casablanca airport in plenty of time & queued to enter the airport & have our luggage screened. We located the Check-in desks & queued, we’d been unable to Check-in online as we’d declared we were carrying liquids as I could only Check-in one bag so had to take my vanity case as hand luggage. After Check-in we exchanged our remaining dirham into euros & headed to passport control, we again queued & eventually made it through. We found a patisserie for lunch, we had salmon quiche & shared an apple & custard tart. We then headed to our gate for our one hour flight to Lisbon. We had a good flight & used the electronic passport control & headed to collect our bags. We located the taxi rank & didn’t have to wait. I showed the driver the address & we headed across the city. The ride was pretty hairy & I was pleased we hadn’t hired a car. It seems the driver was as confused as I was with the address, as we were ringing apartment 5, number 1 instead of apartment 1, number 5! We settled into our apartment before heading out for a wander & also to locate the supermakado. We purchased bacon, potatoes, spinach & tomatoes for dinner, which was yummy, our host had provided a bottle of red wine & we’d purchased a bottle of white, which was a young wine with a slight effervescence.
