Europe

Happy Birthday Richard.
We packed up & set off, I decided on a few stops on the way, google maps said it would take 3 & 3/4 hours, perfect.
1st stop was Kinsale a lovely fishing village, we wandered around the village & also along the harbour.
Next stop was Skibbereen, inland & not as pretty as Kinsale, we didn’t stop just looked as we drove through.
Our last stop was Bantry, again a lovely fishing village but it took us far longer to get here than planned, yes the roads were quite busy but not that busy. We stopped for cake & tea, we purchased pork steaks & tried unsuccessfully to find a fruit & vegetable shop.
Not sure where the sat nav then took us but it was windy & mostly single lane, I think she wanted a drive in the country side & I know we double backed on ourselves at one point. Here route did include spotting about eight traction engines heading in the opposite direction, that was very exciting. We eventually picked up a major road & arrived in Tralee about 6pm, located a supermarket. We’d been given a postcode by our host but no physical address. The sat nav didn’t recognise the post code but luckily google maps in my phone did & we found our accommodation easily, phew.
It was called the farm lodge, our host was away for the weekend but had left a lovely welcome note with introductions to the animals, Molly the horse, Buddie the Shetland pony, Gigsy the black lab & Max the farm dog, their was also about six hens, three ducks, a rooster & a pig who I named Mr Snuffleupagas, there were also cows & sheep.
