Europe

We awoke to drizzle, so much for the lovely weather!
After breakfast we headed off to Cobh a seaside port, it was actually the last port that the Titanic docked in on her maiden voyage & the port a large number of Irish convicts left from on their way to the penal colony of Australia.
We visited the street of colourful houses, on Westview & then walked down to the water front. I found a coffee shop & had a lovely cafe latte before continuing our walk past Coleman Cathedral. We then walked along Spy Hill trying to find the spot where I’d seen a great photo of the colourful houses & the cathedral, but we couldn’t find it, there was a tall wall & the trees seemed to be blocking the view.
We then headed into Cork. By this stage the drizzle was quite heavy, we found the English Market, a fresh food market with lots of different stalls some having been in the same family for generations. We decided to eat at the farm gate cafe in the market, I had seafood chowder with soda bread, which was delicious & Richard a BLT. We purchased a slice of stout chocolate cake takeaway away & made some purchases for dinner in the market. As it was still drizzling heavily we headed to Tesco & then came home.
The chocolate cake was delicious. Our dinner of monk fish, sautéed spinach, tomatoes & rice was lovely.
Richards wrist is much better & so is his back (well as good as it has been anyway) & I’ve been using a hot water bottle & sitting correctly trying to ease my neck & right shoulder which are feeling much better & at least the pain isn’t causing me to feel sick today, hopefully another good nights sleep in a good bed will help.
