Europe

I did hear the fireworks last night but unfortunately couldn’t see them & as it was 10.40 I thought it best not to head out & find a spot to view them, not sure where that would have been.
Unfortunately Richard woke in pain with a sore ankle & found putting any weight on it very painful.
I headed out for a coffee, to find something for lunch & some beer, it took a while but I eventually found a shop selling beer & had also found an almond croissant which was delicious.
I headed out again wanting to climb the Beffroi tower for the panoramic view of the city & to see the Port de Paris, the tower was full, I know there is often restrictions due to weather which was again cold with squally showers & we also had hail. I then headed to old Lille, went into the Musée de Hospice Comtesse & tried to find the street with the houses we can see from our apartment. I didn’t find that street but did find another through an archway. Richards ankle is feeling better & I worked out the oven so we have roast pork for dinner, yay. I’ve also done some washing & we have a tumble dryer, 1st one of the trip, which has been handy.
Our roast was really good & the oven stayed on (unlike Friday night).
