2017 Alaska adventure - Tok, Alaska to Valdez

Valdez, Alaska, 08.06.2017

We left Tok today and travelled to Valdez. The drive was awesome as we viewed many different glaciers along the route. The roads had a lot of bumps from frost heaves but at least they were not as dusty as the roads in Canada. It was still a slow ride. We made a stop at Worthington Glacier and Bridal Veil Falls. Both were beautiful stops.

We happened to arrive in Valdez during their Gold Rush days celebration. This evening college students dressed as can can girls were transported through town in a replica police wagon from the gold rush days. The kids were collecting contributions for student scholarships.
We will stay in Valdez, which is a wonderful picturesque town, for the next couple of days.
