Calgary to San Francisco
We left San Francisco today to pick up the RV but had the morning free. Rachel and family decided to try out the Go Cars - little yellow cars that you drive around guided by GPS. It didn’t go quite to plan as it was quite confusing and they didn’t get to drive down Lombard Street, the really steep, crooked street but they did enjoy themselves. I decided to go up to Haight-Ashbury where it all happened during the hippy, 1967 summer of love era. The street is now full of vintage clothing shops, record shops, eclectic cafes and craft beer bars. I then walked on to see the Painted Ladies - Victorian houses painted in pastel colours next to the park. I met Rachel back at her hotel and we all went to pick up the RV. After loading all our belongings in we set off for Walmart to stock up on food and other necessities, although they had no fresh fruit,veg or meat. Apparently a different store sells those. We then drove to Salinas where we are spending two nights.
