Calgary to San Francisco

Our last day of travelling down the Pacific Highway. We still wanted to go to Santa Monica pier and after a bit of research decided that it would be better to park in Venice (much more RV friendly) and then get a bus. We found a parking lot near the beach and boardwalk which was handy. We walked along the boardwalk back towards Santa Monica looking in some of the shops. Everything is quirkily painted and stalls and entertainers were beginning to set up. We carried on walking when we got to Santa Monica beach all the way to the pier passing Muscle Beach. We spent some time looking round the pier before getting a Lyft ride back to the RV. It would have been nice to spend more time here but we needed to head inland to the Great Wolf Lodge where we are spending two nights in the hotel. There is a big water park here which you can use before the rooms are ready so we headed straight in there. It was quite busy but the girls were soon off exploring and coming back to fetch one of us to go in the pool, lazy river, wave pool etc. Three hours later we managed to gather everyone together to collect our bags and find our Wolf Den King Suite which impressed us all. After a meal in the buffet where between us we tried nearly everything Lola and Evie collected their Wolf passes. This gives them lots of freebies including a magic wand which enables them to play the Magi Quest game. Various games where they have to find objects and point their wands at them are around the hotel. It was like a madhouse ruled by children around 9pm with few adults around. The children were up and down in the lifts as the objects are on different floors but they were helping each other, offering advice and having great fun!
