Calgary to San Francisco
We got up early today to go to Sand Harbour on the Nevada side of the lake. Once the car park is full there no one else is allowed in so it is recommended you arrive before 9am. It is a beautiful place with sandy beaches, coves with rocks, crystal clear water and paddle boards and kayaks to rent. After walking round the headland looking at the views we found a place to sit with some shade on one of the small beaches. Lola and Evie went in the water immediately but it was very cold. After playing for a while they went to climb on the rocks with Scott and Rachel. We then went for an early lunch and the girls bought a dinghy to float around in. They had great fun and we all had a turn in it. After an ice cream it was time for Richard and Rachel to hire paddle boards. Lola went on with her mum and they went out round the rocks for an hour. When they came back there was more swimming and playing in the dinghy. Scott, Rachel and Rich decided to go and jump off one of the big rocks but only Rich made it. We left late afternoon after having a wonderful time.

A day by the lake
