Calgary to San Francisco
We set off this morning for our long journey to Whistler. Our first stop was at Kamloops where we quickly found a bar to watch the England v Croatia match. The score was 1-0 when we arrived but went downhill from then on. After an ice cream and walk in the park we set off to travel the scenic route to Whistler. It was a beautiful route winding through the mountains past lakes, rivers and waterfalls. We saw a very long freight train emerging from a tunnel across a lake. We went through some First Nation land, including plateaux where crops were growing. We had a short stop when we came upon Seton Lake in Lillooet. It was a fantastic viewpoint. Another short stop when we spotted a deer at the side of the road and then drove on with more beautiful views of glaciers in the distance. We made a stop in Pemberton for a meal before driving on to Whistler.
