Calgary to San Francisco
We left our accommodation in Jasper this morning but went for a look round the shops before leaving the town. We had just left when it started to rain and we had mixed weather all along the route, heavy rain and brilliant sunshine. Our first stop was Moose Lake. Although it was misty it was still beautiful as it stretched away into the distance. Our next stop was Mount Robson Provincial Park. We went into the visitor’s centre where you get a good view of the mountain,the highest in the Canadian Rockies, on a clear day. Unfortunately it was very cloudy so we couldn't’ see much. However the photos of the 4 elevations in the centre were beautiful. Our next stop was Valemount where we had a quick look at the salmon spawning beds. It was then a long drive down the highway to Clearwater. The scenery was very different to the Icefield Parkway as it was mostly forests on both sides covering the mountains.
