The Smith's USA Trip

Let the boys have a bit of a sleep in today before wandering over to the River Centre Outlet Mall for breakfast. Turned out they didn't really have anywhere that served breakfast. Oh well. Kids enjoyed it.
We decided to take a morning ride down the Mississippi on one of the last actual steamboats - Natchez.
A good trip that took about two hours, seeing lots of different relevant areas along the river. Was very relaxing to kick back on the top deck with a drink in hand and sticky beak. Craig and I found it hard to comprehend that so many of the docks along the way are literally falling apart after the hurricanes, but rather than trying to pick up the wood and metal, it's all been left there to just slowly fall into the river.
The Captain of the Natchez also said that the middle of the river is 200 feet deep and that it flows at an incredible rate. Yep....won't be finding the bodies in the bottom of that one.
Just as we got back from the boat ride, the rain set in. We made a quick dash to the Jackson Brewery shopping outlet then headed back up towards the French Market because Kaine was set on having another Po Boy for lunch.
Blake and I spent the afternoon having a look through the shops at the Mall before we all found a nearby Sports Bar for dinner.
We decided to be brave and took the boys for a wander up to Bourbon Street. Definitely an eye-opener.
The place was so insanely busy because of it being Jazz Fest and Navy Week.
Glad we can say we've been to see it - not in any great hurry to get back to it.
