The Smith's USA Trip

We had to be out of bed early this morning for an 8am pick up at the hotel for our LA guided tour.
Pretty cool day as we got to see so many LA landmarks. Started the morning at Venice Beach which was interesting. The place itself seems kind of dirty and run down and there are some questionable businesses along the paths, including the 'Green Doctor' with its medicinal marijuana.
From there we went on up to Santa Monica Pier and the boys all rode on the rollercoaster. I decided to pass seeing as we'd just had a nice lunch in one of the restaurants on the pier.
From there it was into Hollywood where we got to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Chinese Theater. This place was a little too crowded and crazy for me. Not a place I would bother going back to I have to say. The amount of people trying to force you to take their goods and demanding money was incredible.
It was back in the bus and on into Bel Air and the Hollywood Hills from there. This was pretty cool as our guide pointed out numerous places of interest and houses that apparently belong to movie starts. (Of course you just have to question the reality of that, but how are we to know any different?) Anyway, we supposedly saw Hugh Heffner's, Will Smith's, Jason Statham's, Johnny Depp's and Katy Perry's homes during our travels. The other thing to consider is that most of them have numerous homes.
We managed to see the Hollywood sign and get some photos of it in the background too and then it was a quick stop at Warner Brothers Studios.
Overall a great day with lots of new sights. We were really glad that we did it this way rather than trying to drive it ourselves.
Another good night for the boys to splash around in the pool.
