The Smith's USA Trip

Wednesday morning it was up early to repack suitcases and make sure everything fits without being over our weight limits!
After check out we caught a taxi out to the airport and then killed a little time till our flight. Whilst we were there early it meant we had time to eat some lunch and work out exactly where things were without having to rush, which was good.
Flight was pretty bumpy but a quick one, only an hour and a half.
Somehow we'd forgotten to book a car for this part of the trip so Craig had to hunt one out. A lot of the car rental places were actually booked out already but he managed to get another Ford Edge from one and it was straight on the road and heading for Mountain Home for the evening.
Nice Best Western with a great pool set up, except that the boys had a major melt down when told to get out and the night just went to crud from there.
Today it was up and on the road again. First planned stop was at Twin Falls to see the Shoshone Falls. From what we had read these were hyped as being as good as Niagra Falls. I can see that they would be really impressive, except that at the moment they're doing some works on the damn behind them and have diverted the water to one side of the falls only. Still a lot of water. Pretty place. Checked out the lake just above as well. Can see that it would be a very popular place in Summer. The geese were not so friendly, hissing when you got close, but considering they had young with them, I guess that's fair enough.
Back into Twin Falls for lunch. Tried out a Golden Corral. Wish we'd found these earlier in our trip - an all you can eat buffet that was really fresh, yum and a great price!
From there it was on the road again and push through to tonight's destination of Pocatello. We had a quiet afternoon watching some TV and found a brochure of another drive through wildlife park to check out tomorrow.
