The Smith's USA Trip

Day 1 at Universal Studios today.
We started the morning with the Despicable Me ride (simulator), followed by Shrek 4D. The boys loved both.
Perfectly timed, we walked out and managed to get photos with both Optimus Prime and Bumblebee from Transformers.
The boys also managed to get photos with EB from Hop and with Spongebob Squarepants.
The Springfield town was pretty cool. Craig had to try a Duff beer while were in Springfield.
Best fun we had ride-wise was definitely on the Men in Black ride, shooting aliens. Blake wouldn't go on it the first time, but we convinced him after we had a go and then he went on it twice in a row.
From there it was around to the streets of London and into the world of Harry Potter. Craig would have completely missed the entrance as it was so well done, just a small gap in a brick wall but when you stepped through - wow! Diagon Alley. Brilliantly done, with amazing details. We stopped for lunch at the Leaky Cauldron and tried our first Butter beer (yum!).
Rest of the afternoon was spent trying a few different rides - Transformers (simulator), Woody Woodpecker (mini roller coaster). We didn't get to go on the big roller coaster because a small storm rolled in (very short-lived). When we did try again later Kaine was absolutely devastated he wasn't big enough to ride and I felt too guilty to go without him.
Blake is terrified of most of the rides. Have to convince him to try them which gets frustrating.
Left the park about 5.30 and back to the villas for a little swim. I gave a few people a good laugh with my first attempt at getting on the tube for the lazy river. Flipped myself over backwards, legs in the air. I would've found it funnier if I hadn't smacked my head on the bottom in the process. Oh well.
