Yamas!

It's day 9 of our adventure, and we finally took a day to relax!

Following some discussion about how touristy and crowded Dubrovnik's Old Town was, we decided to forego our original plan of doing the 2 hour walk on the fortress walls and find a quiet place to hang out for the day. Banje Beach looked beautiful from the cable car, but was right beside Old Town and would be very crowded...so last evening we did some on-line research and picked a beach that the locals go to.

Following a nice breakfast on our back patio, we packed a picnic lunch and took the bus to Copacabana beach. The beach was pebbly, but it's what we expected. We were able to sit on the sea wall, so it wasn't too painful on the behind! The water was very refreshing, and we certainly enjoyed the beautiful views! It was a hot day, so we were thankful to be at the beach and not walking in the blazing sun!

We're back at our place now, and enjoying happy hour with our gin and tonics while reflecting on our wonderful relaxing day!

Today thoughts...
Pete says, "A day at the beach was just what the Doctor ordered!"
Jim says, "I didn't realize how warm the climate was in Dubrovnik, so it was a great day to be at the beach! PS: I wanna know who Pete's doctor is?"
Kelley says, "I'm surprised that the Croatian people are not very friendly."
Karen says, "I finished reading my first book of the trip today...Sarah's Key...it was awesome!"
