Yamas!

Over 20,000 kilometers travelled....and every step was an adventure!

We want to end our story by expressing our gratitude....
- we are thankful for each other... it's amazing to have such wonderful friends that can travel together in harmony for almost 6 weeks!
- we are thankful to our kids...they kept our homes standing while we were away and kept our pets alive!
- we are thankful to our family and friends who faithfully read our travel diary and sent us loving words of encouragement!
- we are thankful for our health and the ability to enjoy an active and busy schedule!
- we are thankful to return to our beloved Canada...while we enjoyed our time in Greece, there's nothing like coming home!

Our final thoughts of the trip:
Pete says "The trip itself was 5 1/2 weeks long, but it was formulated from 25 years of dreaming and 12 months of intense planning...and this was almost as much fun as the trip itself! Looking back, I wouldn't change a thing! I feel very lucky that everything turned out as good as it did!

Jim says "This was a truly amazing adventure! In the planning stages, we took some leaps of faith which all turned out perfectly, yet not always exactly as we envisioned them. At times, there were decisions to be made, and together, we found consensus on which direction to go....and there was always donkey power to pull us through the rough spots!

Kelley says "In Greece, the olive tree is the most beloved and sacred tree. It is a symbol of peace and friendship, and if you have an olive tree you have great wealth. A thirty year friendship took us to Greece and brought us back even stronger friends. I'd like to think that the olive tree guided us across Greece and grew our friendship in strength and prosperity."

Karen says "Fill your life with experiences, not things. Have stories to tell, not stuff to show." (author unknown) This quote perfectly describes the way our trip to Greece filled our hearts and minds with beloved stories of the places we visited and the people we met. These stories are now part of us and will be brought back to life each time we clink our glasses and join together in an enthusiastic "Yamas!"
