We were picked up at our hotel right on time, and made the 1 hour journey to the port to catch the ferry. We were shocked to see the ferry when we arrived! It must have been a cruise ship at one point in time! Hooray! (Photo 1)

Our poor donkeys had to stand in line to check the luggage and then we were able to get on board. It was such a beautiful experience compared to the chaos and confusion we have experienced on the other Greek ferries. We were shown to our cabin, which was just lovely! (photo 2)

We had a glass of wine on the back deck as we sailed out of Crete! It was "Brilliant!" Then after a good night sleep, we woke up in Athens! We all agreed that the overnight ferry was fabulous and cost approx $125 per person (Canadian) and was well worth it!

Once we retrieved our luggage, we found our pre-booked transport! Oh no...they sent a taxi! I couldn't resist snapping a photo of Jim and Pete watching the taxi driver get all our luggage strapped in! We're now here at the Athens airport waiting to board our flight for Toronto...then home to Winnipeg tonight!

It's hard to believe our journey is almost over. We are ready to get home and back to reality. The memories we have made together are just unbelievable. It has really been a trip of a lifetime!
