It's hard to believe that our departure day is here! We've put a lot of work into planning this trip together.
We started this process last summer by discussing our itinerary and the places we wanted to visit in Greece. We made the tough decision not to visit Turkey, which was a huge disappointment for all of us. Hopefully we'll make it to Istanbul someday, but for now, the safety risks just were just too high.
Following a few days of sightseeing in Athens, we will fly to Dubrovnik, Croatia to take a 7 night cruise down the "Dalmatian Coast". We'll visit 4 different ports of call in western Greece, followed by Kotor, Montenegro and then return to Dubrovnik. We considered doing this as a bus tour from Athens, but a cruise turned out to be the best value for money!
Following the cruise, we will begin our Greek island hopping, spending 4 nights each in Mykonos, Naxos and Santorini and ending with 6 nights in Crete.
Bon Voyage! Off we go for 37 days of experiencing and exploring Greece!
