Yamas!

Today we said farewell to Naxos, but we sure loved it there. We enjoyed the quieter pace, the wonderful food we had and of course, all the friendly Greek people we met. We would all highly recommend a visit to Naxos to anyone planning a trip to the Greek islands.

We successfully caught the bus this time to Naxos Town, and got into the chaotic whirlwind of taking the ferry in Greece! We met a lovely couple from South Africa on their honeymoon, and enjoyed passing the time on the ferry chatting with them. (Photo # 1 - us with Lindy and Christian from South Africa while waiting to get off the ferry in Santorini) I wanted to capture a photo of what it looks like when it's time to get off the ferry in Greece. We are all herded like cattle into the bottom of the ferry, and have to stand there in the heat until the big doors open. Today it was especially hot and painful! (photo # 2)

Hello Santorini! We have heard so many wonderful things about this island and we are very excited to experience this gem for ourselves. The island of Santorini is what remains after an enormous volcanic eruption created this unique half moon shaped island. After getting settled into our hotel, we walked to the main town, called Fira, for dinner and a few breathtaking photos! (photo 3, 4 and 5)

Stay tuned for more photos of Santorini as we set out to explore tomorrow!
