Yamas!

What a day we spent on Santorini!

Since we had our car rental until 11:30 am, we started our day with a drive to the eastern part of the island. More beautiful sites and beaches to behold! When we returned to Fawtly Towers, Basil was waiting for us and we captured a picture with him! (Photo #1)

We lazed around the pool until 1:30 pm, when we were picked up for our sunset catamaran sailing trip! We enjoyed more driving around the island picking up the other guests, and were very excited to finally reach the marina! (photo # 2)

Before long, we were off, sailing along the beautiful coastline of Santorini! This island is simply breathtaking, and as I've said before, the photos cannot do it justice! (photos 3 - 8). I wanted to point out the zig zag pathway in photo # 8, which is the old donkey path from the base of the old port of Fira (the capitol "city") to the top of the cliff. Luckily with today's technology, you can now take a cable car ride to the top! Many of our photos from the first few days in Santorini were taken near the top of this cliff looking out to the sea!

We had several opportunities to swim when the catamaran made stops along the way, and Pete wanted Craig K. to note that his white butt is not showing in photo # 5 during his swan dive from the catamaran!!

Following an amazing Greek supper cooked by the crew, we took in the beautiful sunsets at the most northern part of the island! (photo
# 9) The final photo is the quaint little town of Oia, where we were shuttled to shore for the ride back to our buddy Basil! (photo # 10)

It was a special day for all of us, and were so amazed to witness the beauty of Santorini. Jim and Kelley can't take anymore amazing experiences following their first wine tasting yesterday and catamaran sailing today! So tomorrow, "no fun!" We will pack up the donkeys and set sail for our final destination on this awesome journey...the island of Crete!
