We left Montpelier and travelled through several really pretty towns in the mountains of Vermont. Today was one of the cloudiest and coolest days we have had since our holiday began. It was a welcome change.

We stopped after about an hour and a half and did a short hike to a small waterfall. We even got rained on a little while we were walking. We then travelled into New Hampshire, through some amazing mountain vistas. There were warnings all along the roads that moose may cross the highways, but we sadly didn't see any today.

We stopped again to hike to the Arathusa falls. This was a 1.4 mile hike one way and it was all uphill, over 200 meters up! The view at the end was beautifull and well worth the effort. We then took the downhill hike back to the car and had a quick lunch before continuing our drive into Massachusetts.

We have settled into our hotel for the night in Salem and we're looking forward to exploring this historic town tomorrow.
