Nadia slept in this morning so we didn't get started for the day until almost 9am. It was lovely to wake up and see a beautiful blue sky from the skylight in the loft.
We had a quick breakfast, packed our things and checked out of the tiny house.
We were planning to do some river kayaking in the morning. One of the suggested locations only supplied kayaks in the afternoon so we headed in the direction of Lost Lake about an hour from town. The road to the lake started out OK but changed to rough unpaved road after a few miles. We then got to one spot where 2 other cars were in the process to turning around because the road had been washed out altogether. We couldn't have attempted it with our car, so we turned back as well.
We decided to make our way slowly back to Portland to get our flight to LA. We had plenty of time, so we stopped at the town of Hood River to look around and have some lunch.

One of Damien's workmates had recommended that we drive along the Washington side of the Columbia River to get some great views, so we crossed the river for our drive back to the airport. As promised, the views were amazing and we stopped at several points to get some photos.
After dropping off our rental car, we got to the airport with plenty of time, had a bite to eat and got our flight to LA. We landed early, despite being held up in Portland for about 15 minutes because of a sudden storm. The flight was pretty smooth, and we got our bags quickly before heading to pick up our car for our week in LA.
The drive to Mary's place was easy, despite being held up in traffic for about 15 minutes. We got to Mary's a bit after 9pm and headed to bed not long after.
