11. Vaughan, Vaughan Springs

Weather: Lovely Autumn weather- not too hot and not too cold.

This is GOLD country! The place is virtually a ghost town, however, in its heyday it was a thriving gold town with large Chinese content. The springs (unfortunately dry and non existent) has positive health benefits. Sadly I was not able to partake of these benefits!!!

This was a stopping point to do the BIG CHASE!

The BIG CHASE:
We had trouble renewing the 'cripple sticker' for parking in Colac as you have to be a citizen. I had to go twice to the doctor to get the necessary forms, first for the Victorian then the NSW. To have it renewed in NSW you have to be there in person for the photo ( NOTE THIS- the photo)
So we decided to head to Vaughan Springs, drop the van off and do a drive to Moama, Echuca, a 2 hour drive. Crazy right!!!
When we got to the small subsidiary office of the local council I was told that the doctor hadn't filled in all of the necessary information on the forms.
After frantically ringing a local medical centre I was able to head over straight away due to a cancellation- thank you Lord! By this time it was 3pm and the office closed at 4pm. Finally, back at the RTA in the council office, I was asked if I wanted my old photo to be used! Can you believe this????? I could've done it over the net after all- Beauracrats!
So we thought we'd do the voting at the same time, being in the

council office, but was told they don't' open until the weekend, despite being told over the radio by the head voting person in NSW that all offices were open for voting this week!

Well, I thought I had seen it all- a caravan (looked like a permanent) had a pot belly stove with a chimney!
