Road Trip 2017

Today we set our alarm for 7:30, so we could grab breakfast and head to the Clinton Presidential Library. We got there and spent way too much time in the gift shop. Then, we toured the museum. Before seeing the exhibits, we wondered if they would include all aspects of his presidency, and we were happy that they didn’t leave anything out. Love honesty! ;)

After that, we needed to make another historical stop to Little Rock Central High School to teach the girls about the Little Rock Nine. The building itself was pretty impressive, but the feeling you get from standing in that spot is pretty amazing. Stacy and Sydney tried the front doors, and went inside. It was like stepping back in time. There was a display case honoring the nine students who had to brave the harsh treatment they were shown by many students at that school back in 1957. Then, we went over to the state house to see the statues of them walking into school for the first time. The neighborhood itself looked like we had stepped back in time.

It was time to head to Memphis, so of course, we had to listen to Elvis the whole way!

We arrived at our RV park, and we stayed at the Graceland RV park, of course! Our spot was between Teddy Bear Lane and Hound Dog Way! We made dinner and listened to more Elvis at our picnic table while we ate. We figured no one would complain about that here!

We wandered through some Elvis memorabilia shops, so we could decide exactly what we wanted to buy the next day. We also met another family making a cross country trip from San Diego, but they were taking 2 months instead of our 5 weeks, but this stop and our next were going to be the same! So fun at these parks meeting such nice people along the way!
