Road Trip 2017

Happy 16th Anniversary to us! We’re off to see the Wizard!!

Today, we leisurely woke up, and headed to Wamego, Kansas to go to the Wizard of Oz Museum. We could totally see Dorothy singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in one of the farms we passed along the way. The museum had some pretty cool artifacts, and re-creations of scenes from the movie. After we toured the museum, we walked across the street to the yellow brick road.

There was also an Oz Winery there, so we just had to check that out real quick. Each had it’s own fun label, so Stacy bought a bottle of OEO to bring home.

Then, we were off on what seemed like a long drive through the flat plains of nothing. Actually, it wasn’t as flat as we thought it would be. We did see some pretty smart cows that were standing in the middle of a pond. IT’S HOT!!! It was 108 degrees on this drive, so we are looking forward to getting out of Kansas tomorrow.

We arrived at our RV Park with enough time to go to the pool for a bit. We cooled off, and met a nice family there heading the opposite direction. Then, we went back to our RV and had the most amazing pork chops for dinner. The Dillon’s grocery store had rubbed them with some spices. Now, we need to track down exactly what that was, so we can take some home!
