Road Trip 2017

Well, we half slept last night. We woke up to the sound of huge, heavy raindrops. So, by 5:45am, we decided to just get up and get going. We had another long drive day, and we weren’t sleeping anyway, so we wanted to just get a head start and get into New Orleans a little earlier.

At one point, we needed to stop for gas, and since we were near Natchitoches, Scott decided we also needed to stop by Jim Croce’s crash site. The plaque affiliated with it was in a basketball gym, but Scott was lucky enough to find a door that wasn’t meant to be slightly cracked, and snuck into the building. That led us to hearing Jim Croce songs for the next several hours as we continued our drive.

The drive seemed to never end today. We made a stop at a rest stop to stretch our legs, and just had to take a picture of the Beware of Alligators sign. We noticed turtles along the road, and new kinds of roadkill – armadillos!

We pulled into our RV park at 7:00pm, and started cooking dinner. When the sun went down, it

Day 7 - New Orleans, LA

was fun to see the old fashioned street lamps in the park lit up with white lights all around the pole. So cute!
