The Sassy llamas

After a VIP bus journey from Trujillo to Lima, we caught a taxi to the airport! After a lot of coffee, subways and pick&mix we boarded the plane to Cusco!
We arrived at the Wild Rover, and went in search of some high altitude food, finding La Bodega (fab pizza, pasta, garlic mayo and bread)!

Tuesday, we woke up and ventured to San Pedro market where we picked up some alpaca leg warmers and jumpers! After that we made our way to the hotel, to discover we were a little late for our induction, so caught a taxi and got to meet Jason our Inca guide! After food, we had the massive challenge of packing 2.5kg for 4 days and nights (quite the challenge) - see packing list!

Wednesday morning, we meet Gerson zea (Jason) at 7.30am and got a bus to an Inca site Allied Pisaq, where we found out how intelligent the Inca people were. After that we went to a little village called Kaccacollo, where we met the weaving women who wear their hats to display their marital status, we got to see how they dye the alpaca wool and also got some snaps with some 'cheeky' llamas! After that it was lunch time at Parwa, we were served 5 courses which was amazing, from beetroot bread, quinoa soup and stuffed peppers!
Another bus during to another Inca site called Ollantaytambo to see the uncompleted temple of the sun, we picked up some supplies for the hike and checked into hotel before dinner, getting acquainted with Matt (the PT from Oz) and Rachel #2 and Kim (spanish teachers in Madrid)!
