Having packed everything last night we started out the day with our final breakfast in the Hi hostel, all agreeing it definitively rates high on the hostel scale. Thumbs up!
We made our way to the airport to collect our rental car and began the next leg of Bramleys adventure.
It took a good 5 minutes to work out how to open the boot. Fingers crossed that will be the only car hiccup!
We drove along the interstate, stopping in a very American Gas Station for some lunch.
Arriving at Cedar Lodge about 4pm, we were greeted with a number Grizzly bear statues.
We decided to take a drive into the park to see the famous red wood Sequioa trees. The park was breathtaking! Up 5000ft we were driving along on mountain edges and felt our ears pop on occasion.
We stopped at Tunnel View to get some very impressive snaps and drove down to Mariposa Grove where we took the path up to the Grizzly Sequoia tree. For a bunch of girls that are not into nature, it was very impressive!
We set out on our search for food at half 6....finally Selma the sat nav found us a Mexican restaurant at 8pm. Lesson learned the hard way, restaurants are few and far between in Yosimite Park!
