The Sassy llamas

Thursday, we departed the hotel at 8am, and caught a bus to the 82km checkpoint, here we meet Rudy our 'speedy & giggly' tour guide! After a passport stamp we started a 7 hour hike to camp site (Patawsi) we didn't except the sun to be so strong and were thankful for our shorts and sports bras! We saw another inca site (Patallaqta) built around a river. Arriving at camp we found our tents and were supplied a basin of hot water to wash our dirty feet! We then were introduced to all the porters and chefs. After a line up of hand shakes, kisses and some questionable hugs we went to the tent for happy hour! Where Ev was delighted to find popcorn and crackers! For dinner we got soup, chicken and rice, which we were all happy to clear our plates, all washed down with some tea and hot chocolates! Then off to our tents for bedtime at 8pm!!

Friday, a 5am wake up call, with some tent service coco tea to heat us up! We were served an amazing breakfast to set us up for the day (porridge, bread & jam, pancakes). We set off at sun rise 6.30am, for an 8 hour hike (which the Sassy Llamas completed in 5.5 hours). We got to see the dead women's pass at 4,200 metres, the highest point of the 4 day trek! Arriving at camp we were served lunch and retired to our tents for a few hours before happy hour, after that we played cards for treats to pass the time till dinner. Dinner was a soup and chicken combo. After that we had a two hot toddies, and started a sing song and tent rave!
