We woke in the morning and started our day, singing Happy Birthday to Laura! Anticipation was high as we started out our second jam packed day in Medillon. We started with the Pablo Escobar tour. This had been highly recommended by everyone! We were greeted by a bubbley tour guide. She explained the history behind Pablo Escobar. We visited his graveyard and a family home where we met his notourious accountant brother Roberto Escobar. He loved all the lady visitors! He was kind of a weird guy who only spoke spanish. So everything he said to us was translated by the tour guide. We were shown his brother's first drug mule car, family photos, the hiding places where they used keep their billions and we even got a photo with him! You would nearly forget all the horrible things he had done to people....nearly! After the tour we grabbed some snacks and headed to our walking tour. Hernan was our tour guide! He was very nice and remembered all our names! (I guess to make sure he got good tips!) He was very informative. It was great for learning about the history of Colombia and about the troubles the city had faced in the last few decades. Hernen tried to show us how the city was changing and evolving through showing us the art and culture of the city! I think we all agreed for such a historically troubled city it was very impressive! Hernan also surprised the birthday girl with a slice of traditional colombian cake! Needless to say, we tipped him quite well!
We then dragged our tired bodies for food! We ended our jam packed day with birthday celebrations for Laura! An enjoyable night was had by all!
